The long distance coupler inserts arriving carriers, one by one without waiting time, into a continuous air stream that can take up to 5 carriers per line. This number is adjustable from 1 to 5. Each direction consists of an insert and dispenser unit, and a separate blower that switched on continuously (based on a time frame). The insert unit is a kind of diverter with electrical valves and bypass tubing that enables carriers to be inserted without interrupting the continuous airflow. Carriers arrive at the dispenser unit on an air cushion and are transported one by one into the receiving line, which takes care for the transportation to the final destination.
The Long Distance Coupler is especially designed for very intensive use and has a very long life cycle. The unit is made from aluminium profiles and many components standard parts, used in e.g. diverters and stations. It includes various maintenance free parts, such as the complete gear mechanism, all bearings, self adjusting sals and failure free reed contact.
